I seem to be having a bit of a lightbulb theme going on with Tuesday's Tools lately 💡😄
However given they are quite symbolic for moments of sudden realisation, inspiration or insight, I think they're pretty relevant to Tuesday's Tool's musings on how to master our runaway minds and live our best life present.⠀
⠀
Today however this lightbulb represents a different theme. Next Saturday at 8.30 pm local time people all over the world will be participating in the Earth Hour switch off. If you haven’t heard about Earth Hour before it started in 2007, as a local event in Sydney, with people switching off power sources to demonstrate the importance of conserving the planet’s resources. Since then it has grown into a worldwide movement uniting millions committed to do what they can to combat climate change.⠀
⠀
So here’s the thing, SMALL ACTS DO COUNT. Every year millions of people, businesses and landmarks set aside an hour to host events, switch off their lights and make noise for the Earth Hour movement.
It doesn’t matter how big or small the act is, where you are, or who you are with… It's about the intention, the commitment, the desire to DO SOMETHING.
⠀
So even if you are sat at home watching TV, the simple act of switching off during Earth Hour does make a difference. Not only are you reducing your own personal energy consumption, you are contributing to the bigger picture, and helping the climate change battle.⠀
⠀
Millions of individual, everyday people doing something small, adds up to something BIG.⠀
⠀
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”⠀
